Translating SALTDo you minister to people in other countries? We have resources for you. We are making our Seven Areas of Life Training (SALT) discipleship curriculum available for use and/or translation to ministries who seek to disciple people in other countries. We have drawn from a rich experience of 30 years of discipling people to create the SALT discipleship series. This discipleship series is designed to teach people to apply foundational truths to their everyday lives and then share those truths with others. These truths apply to people from any country or culture. The biblical truths in each of the SALT lessons are illustrated with diagrams making them perfect for use in other countries. The diagrams help people understand and remember these truths and make them easy to share with others. Testimonies from the Mission FieldIn 2006 twelve pastors and their wives were trained in Peddapalli, India. They took notes and drew the SALT diagrams in preparation to pass the truths on to their people. At the conclusion of the training, the most common response was that the lessons were a blessing because they were so easily understood and culturally relevant. I also shared the first SALT lesson "I Am Not God" with a leader in India. After hearing the lesson he asked this question, 'Was this lesson written specifically to Hindus?' I told him, 'No, all Christians need to learn God is in control.' He then told me, 'I must have this material. In 2007, Steve Evers, Director of InTouch Mission International, also taught in Peddapalli to a group that included 36 pastors. One pastor said he received more in those few days than in all of Bible College. God is doing some great things on the mission field through SALT." In reference to a SALT training done in India, March of 2007 "We have received many letters from our missionaries saying how much they were blessed by the SALT Seminar and it changed their lives. Still I am receiving letters from our brothers. They say a special thanks to you for coming and blessing us with the Word of God." “In October of 2007, I was invited to share SALT with a group of pastor’s wives in the Tororro District of Uganda, Africa. I am not a pastor and was a little intimidated to teach SALT (this was my first time). I was delighted after I facilitated the first lesson, ‘I am Not God’. The women told me this was the first time they had been taught by this method! They loved the visuals, they made the truths come to life. The next day, the lesson was ‘I am In Christ’. Some of the women were weeping. God prompted me to do an altar call. I wrestled with Him. These women are the church leaders! Surely they are already saved! The Lord persisted so I asked them, ‘Are you “in Christ”?’ I gave the invitation and to my amazement 21 women stood up to receive Jesus as their Savior! The pastor’s wife in charge of the women’s conference said; ‘Now we are truly one “in Christ”. Bwana Asifiwe!,’ which means, ‘Praise the Lord!’ in Swahili.” |
