The keys are for you and me
I was scanning updates on Facebook the other day and my eyes caught an article written about Joyce Myers, as she ministered in Kolkata, India. This captured my attention since I have had the privilege to visit and minister in India.
Her message was about the importance of forgiveness and how it is relevant for all not just those in India. She said “one reason it’s so hard to forgive is because we feel we’re doing something for someone who doesn’t deserve it. But when unforgiveness lives inside of us, we can become bitter and lose all the power available to us from God.”
As I mediated on her message, I began to do a personal inventory and found that I needed to go to God’s word and walk through the truths about forgiveness. I spent some time seeking God and reviewing the forgiveness teaching found in the Seven Areas of Life Training. Once again this teaching helped me deal with some unforgiveness in my own heart.. God’s word says that “when I am sinned against, I need to forgive. Forgiveness means believing that Christ’s sacrifice was the full payment I am set free from this prison by using the keys God has provided. The keys to freedom are to forgive the offense, the hurt, and the ramifications and repent of your sinful reactions.”
Thanks Lord that I am forgiven and you have provided me the keys.
